FILIPINO ALUMNI CONFRONT ECOLOGY

L. Capelli

MANILA: 26th October -- ING YATU, CANACU, QUECATAMU are not "magic words" they are translated as "KALIKASAN, SA AKIN, SA ATIN: creation, for me, for us" It was the theme of the "Alumni Centennial National Convention" held at the officer's Club, Air force city, Clark Air Base in Pampanga, last October 23-25
About a 100 delegates from all chapters graced the occasion accompanied by their salesian delegates and some former mentors. Input on the theme were given by Sen. Honasan (his speech was read by the national president) presenting the ecology issues and the legislative agenda to solve them. Mrs Leonarda Camacho expounded on the issues of ecology in Metropolitan Manila focusing on the air, water and garbage collection problems. Very practical insights were given to the Bosconian Alumni on how they concretely can contribute to the cause. Watch for more news from the alumni on what they are up to...
Congratulations to all those who worked hard to make the convention possible, in a very special manner to the rector and community of Mabalacad.
