5356(II)_Salesian Easter Journey from the Tomb to the Pentecost

14 April 2020 -- Almost 30 years of history: one of the Salesian Family groups the 'Testimoni del Risorto' (Witnesses of the Risen Lord, TR) launched this typically Salesian prayer in 1994 - a popular devotion - as one of the treasures of the Universal Church recognized also in the 'Directory on Popular piety and liturgy' (Vatican, 2001, no. 153).

Fourteen stations, like the Way of the Cross (Via Crucis), lead the faithful from the empty tomb of Jesus to Pentecost. Unlike the Way of the Cross, all 14 stations are rooted in the Scripture text. The Filipino version (English) is available for download thanks to 'Word and Life Publications' (Manila).

The TR website offers the Via Lucis in 4 main languages; the liturgy and variety of adaptations of this typically Easter way of prayer 'on the road' in many other different lanaguges.

The TR (Testimoni del Risorto) - Witnesses of the Risen Lord - is the 20th group of the Salesian family, founded in 1984 and officially affiliated to the SF in 1999 (Founder Fr Sabino Palumbieri).

As of recently on the 'Via Lucis' world map we found only one EAO location 'China-Macau'. Maybe this Easter time of 2020 is a good chance to make this simple and very deep Salesian devotion our own.

Pope Francis shares his personal Easter faith: "What a joy it is for me to announce this message: Christ is risen! I would like it to go out to every house and every family. Most of all, I would like it to enter every heart, for it is there that God wants to sow this Good News!"
