By Br. Pham hong Phuoc, SDB

Blessed Philip Rinaldi Theologate, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, 28 June 2021 -- At 10 a.m. on Saturday 26 June 2021, Fr Joseph Le Ngoc Anh, the newly appointed rector of the Blessed Philip Rinaldi Theologate of the VIE Province presided at the installation mass in the Theologate chapel.

Co-celebrants were Fr Provincial Barnabas Le An Phong and the Salesian priests of the provincial council and the Theologate community. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the participants were only the confreres of the Theologate community and the provincial house.

Before the mass began Fr Provincial had read the appointment letter from the Rector Major. In his homily, Fr Provincial thanked the new rector and encouraged him to take on this responsibility. He also shared with the participants in particular with Fr Ngoc Anh some of his experiences when he was the Theologate’s rector before becoming Provincial. The homily was followed by the profession of faith and Fr Ngoc Anh's commitment to serve as the rector of the Theologate.

After holy communion, Fr Ngoc Anh addressed those present. He shared two words: “worry and peace”. He said that although he worried so much when accepting this position, he also felt peaceful because he had grace and the support of God, the Blessed Virgin Mary and Don Bosco, and of all the confreres of the Theologate.

After the mass, everyone congratulated the new rector and they shared joy together during lunch in the Theologate's dining hall.

Fr Joseph Le Ngoc Anh was born in 1956. He made his profession on 15 August 1975 and perpetual profession on 15 August 1981. He was ordained to the priesthood on 06 April 1995. He was the novice master from 2012 to 2018.
