Australian Fr. Frank Moloney re-appointed to ITC.

MELBOURNE 3rd Feb: -- Professor Frank Moloney, currently Foundation

Professor of Theology at Australian Catholic University, has been

re-appointed to the International Theological Commission for a further

five years by His Holiness Pope John Paul. The ITC is one of the most

prestigious theological gatherings in the Church, and Fr. Moloney

recently indicated that it was both gratifying and humbling to be

re-appointed. This recognition accorded to his work and counsel as a

scriptural theologian enabled him to offer his gifts at the highest

level of the Church's teaching authority, Fr. Moloney said recently. He

continues his present appointment at Australian Catholic University,

where he is playing a unique role in establishing theology as a

mainstream study at university level, and also continues his work as

both researcher and populariser in his chosen area - Scripture, and

particularly the Gospel of John.
