Rectors from EAO join in Region Retreat

MANILA: 8th November 2009 -- 64 Rectors from many of the provinces in the EAO region (involving Pakistan, Mongolia, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Philippines South, and Philippines North) are gathered in the FIN retreat house in Batulao, southwest of Manila from 3-10 November 2009 for the regional retreat. This is organized by Fr. Francis Gustilo, in-charge of the regional formation team, and preached by Fr. Frank Moloney, provincial of Australia and renowned biblical scholar. The theme of the retreat is Discipleship in the Gospel of St. Mark.
While some of the Rectors will be heading home afterwards, others will remain and will be joined by other Rectors from Korea, Japan, and Vietnam for the formation of new Rectors in the region the week after. About 40 are expected to attend this formation from 11-14 November in the same retreat house.
From 15-18 November, mission animators from EAO region will also gather for a meeting at the Don Bosco Street Children Village in Alabang, a suburb of Metro-Manila. 18 confreres are expected to attend, while FMAs from the region also signified their intention to join the seminar. Fr. Vaclav Klement, Councillor for the Missions, is coming to animate the seminar.
