5565(II)_Peace Day Pakistan

Lahore, Pakistan, 5 February 2021 -- Salesians of Don Bosco from Lahore and Quetta, with the collaboration a group of lay people and Salesian Cooperator Mr. Afzal Aftab, organized a “Peace day” activity for the youth. Thirty-five participants, girls and boys from different religious denominations and faiths (Muslims, Christians and Catholics), shared together their reflections about the possibility of a peaceful community, the difficulties faced in Pakistan for achieving peace, and their role as Pakistani youth in promoting peace.


The young people participated actively in the event. On this special day the young people were being made aware of how they could contribute in creating, building and sustaining a peaceful society. Moreover, during the interaction the young people shared their own experience of peace; as well as, how they were being hindered to promote peace and unleash their full potential in achieving a better society.


The event concluded with the closing remarks of Fr. Samuel Adnan SDB and at the end everybody sang the prayer of peace by St. Francis of Assisi patron saint of Peace.
