Dili ASC Centre (Association of Salesian Cooperators), Timor Leste, 14 March 2020 -- The Association of Salesian Cooperators (ASC), in Dili, Timor-Leste, organises a routine weekend activity for the family ministry, especially for the ASC members. Every Sunday afternoon, all members gather together to bring the statues of Mary Help of Christians and of Don Bosco to visit the house of each member. The Mary Help of Christians and Don Bosco’s statues stay with the family for a week or more - depends on each family.

This activity is organised based upon the art 11. of Project of Apostolic Life (PAL), Art.11: Style of Action. This pastoral activity was initiated in 2015 after the third batch of the Salesian Cooperators of Dili Center made their promise with the following purposes:

To pray together as a family of Salesian Cooperators, to spread the Word of God through the readingg and reflecting of the daily Scripture readings, and to share our live experiences transformed by the Word of God.

We are convinced that by bringing Virgin Mary and Don Bosco close to each of our member’s house (including the houses of our aspirants) or even to some families who requested and also to young people will strengthen and broaden Don Bosco’s mission in Timor – Leste, most specifically in the area of Dili.

Apart from visiting each member’s house, we also take the initiative to bring the statues of Mary Help of Christians and of Don Bosco to visit the schools, especially the schools that are located within the jurisdiction of the Parish of Mary Help of Christians Comoro, Dili Timor – Leste.

We usually realise this activitity during January, the month dedicated to our founder St. John Bosco. This year we started from January to February with these statues visited five schools in each for one full week. During the visit, there was an Eucharistic celebration presided by the SDB Delegate for Salesian Cooperators in Dili, formation for teachers, catechises (songs and games) for students, including singing and playing together.

We believe that all of these activities will help and support students to become: “Good Christians, and Upright Citizens” for the Church and for the country.
