670 Salesian Bishop, Thailand, dies suddenly
SALESIAN BISHOP, THAILAND, DIES SUDDENLY.
 
Dear Friends,
 
on Tuesday 20 May 2003 at 23:30 Mons. Michael Praphon Chaicharoen, SDB, passed away due to heart failure.
 
On May 19 he went to see the doctor accusing chest pain. The morning after he felt better and asked to return home, but the doctor advised him to stay some more days at the hospital, but on that same night he had a sudden heart failure.
 
Prayers services will be held at the cathedral until Friday 23. The burial mass, which will be presided by H.E. Card. Michael Michai Kitbunchu, will be at Ban Saeg Arun on Sunday 25 at 15:00.
 
He was 73, made his first profession 54 years ago, and was priests for 43 years.
He was Bishop of the diocese of Suratthani for 15 years.
