2263 Easy music Brazilian style

'Easy Music' Brazilian style: http://76.76.31.27:9102

CUIABÁ (Brazil - Mato Grosso): 26th September -- Last week we offered you www.h2onews.org as a useful resource, replete with videos and 'good news' items on a daily basis.  This week something different.
It is really quite amazing where austraLasia ends up - or who searches it on the internet.  In the past week there have been three separate contacts from Brazil. One is understandable - he's a Bishop and rather well known to all of us anyway: Bishop Tarcisio Scaramussa, former General Councillor for Social Communications in Rome.  The said bishop turned up in Rome for his learn-how-to-be-a-bishop course, conducted at the Legionaries of Christ (indeed) University not far from 'La Pisana'. He is still an avid reader of and commentator on aLa. The second is a gentleman from Natal in Brazil's North East, who has taken a shine to Digital Virtues, which he discovered on the internet, is heavily involved in parish and diocesan activities in his region and has began the task of translating the book from the Spanish edition about to be published in Quito.
The third contact, and the subject of today's news item, is from the Rector of São Gonçalo College in Cuiabá, where the Salesians first arrived in 1894.  Well, an effort led by Fr Luiz Wagner Galvão, but obviously achieved with the help of a competent professional team.  It is a new FM Radio station bearing the same name as the College.  Currently it is in test phase and runs 'easy music' 24 hours a day, interrupted only occasionally by a sweet voice announcing who they are and what they are about, in that mellifluous, enchanting rhythm that belongs to spoken Portuguese.
You have the direct URL above in the headline.  To try it, simply add that into your web radio program - for Windows users probably something like Windows Media Player.  Linux users might have something like Amarok. Whatever.  You merely need to put the address in, click 'play' and it's yours.
Really, you can't do much better than this.  It is FM of the best quality.  They play a wide range of music, all of it eminently 'listenable'. And for anybody who knows Fr João Carlos Rodrigues, provincial of Recife, much further north than Camp Grande Province where
Cuiabá is located, Radio São Gonçalo is a boon, because they play quite a number of his 'hits'.  JCR is a household name in Brazil and has a travelling roadshow that would leave Bette Midler for dead (BM has just abandoned hers for ecological - or is it just age? - reasons). So - enjoy Radio São Gonçalo.
