Hua Hin, Thailand, 9 October 2019 -- The Salesian Youth Ministry Commission for the Thai Province, led by Fr. Nopphadon Joseph SDB, celebrated the annual Salesian Youth Gathering from 6-9 October 2019, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Khao Takiab, Hua Hin, , with the theme “Enriching the cheerful teenage, serving society,” facilitated by Fr. Ronachai Mathavabhandhu SDB. The gathering was attended by 115 students from 7 Salesian schools and 1 Youth Centre from across the country, with the assistance of the Salesians, Salesian sisters, and lay mission partners.

The 2019 Salesian Youth gathering offered the students opportunities for growing in maturity communally and individually. It promoted the crucial characteristics of Salesian Youth Identity, which are generosity and the sense of the needs of others. Throughout the camp, the young were challenged to express their capacity to listen, learn, play, share, and pray together. Additionally, they were invited to recognise the real meaning of ‘Friendship’ in practical ways. Though they came from different corners of Thailand, they all shared the same mind and spirit, which is the spirit of Don Bosco. The gathering was very much a home where the young felt welcome, a school of life, a church where they encountered God, and a playground ringing with joyful hearts and happiness. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved - we look forward to seeing you all again next year!
