TAIWAN - A GOOD NEWS STORY

(Note: this story arrived just before the earthquake. Given that BT and its

'family' were not directly affected by the quake, it seems opportune to run

this story right at the moment. Julian)

TAIPEI: 23RD Sept -- Boys Town (Taiwan) is a Salesian Home for children and

youths in difficulty, most of them need a family to take care of them, and

that is what we try to offer them.

At present Boys Town’s Family comprises 21 boys, the father figure

represented by the rector, the mother figure represented by a lady, who has

worked in BT since three years ago, and other staff comprising other

Salesians and lay people.

Our boys go to the public school with the other children of the town. A few

days ago we received this happy news that we share now:

"Our House Mother Ms. Julia Lam has been given an award by the Primary

School which the kids from Boys Town attend here in Taiwan. She has been

selected as "The Ideal Mother."

We thank and congratulate Julia for a well-earned award.
