4937(I)_FIN celebrates Province Community Day

Manila, the Philippines, 30 November 2018 -- The Salesians of the Philippines North Province celebrated their annual province day in the Don Bosco Youth Centre in Tondo, Manila.


The Salesians were welcomed by the Salesian community and the Educative Pastoral Community of Tondo. The day began with the celebration of the Holy Mass. Fr Joseph Fernandez, SDB was the main celebrant, as the Province pays tribute to him on the occasion of his golden jubilee as a Salesian priest.


After Mass, the confreres gathered in the Mazarello Gymnasium where they had their fellowship program. During the program the province recognized the following confreres who mark their priestly ordination and religious profession anniversaries this year:


PRIESTLY ORDINATION (50 years – Golden Jubilarians)

PRIESTLY ORDINATION (40 years – Ruby Jubilarians)

PRIESTLY ORDINATION (25 years – Silver Jubilarians)

  • Fr CARANDANG, Gaudencio Jr.
  • Fr GARCES, Alexander
  • Fr SOLIVA, Edwin
  • Fr VILLEGAS, Carlo

RELIGIOUS PROFESSION (60th Year)

  • Bishop Leo Drona
  • Fr BATI, Remo

RELIGIOUS PROFESSION (50 years)

RELIGIOUS PROFESSION (40 years)

After which, the province showed their solidarity to the Sacred Heart Postnovitiate Community as they received the solidarity contribution from the provincial community. The newly renovated building for the training centrer was also blessed before the end of the program.


The confreres gathered in the “little theme park” to enjoy the fun booths and thrilling rides. Also, confreres had their friendly basketball game in the youth centre. After all the activities, the confreres went back to their respective communities bringing with them the memories that the province day had to offer.
