JAPANESE STUDENTS SEE THEIR 'SALESIAN ROOTS'

Tokyo: March 19th '04 -- a group of 20 Japanese students (including 2 mothers) of Ikuei Salesian Polytechnic left Narita Airport today for their European tour.  This is a yearly activity led by Rev. Fr. Motayasu Luigi Fushiki SDB, accompanying students who would want to have a glimpse of European life, mainly in Spain, France and Italy.  Much of the trip will be centered on Italy, particularly Turin.  It is through these trips that the Japanese realize that they are not in a school as common as the other schools that are in Tokyo.  Through this tour of Salesian places, they belong to a "special family" whose Father, Don Bosco,is known and loved so much throughout the world.

According to Fr. Fushiki, many of the students return to Japan with a deeper appreciation of their being "bosconians" and grow in their love, loyalty and joy in being so, even after so many years after they have graduated.  We hope and pray that this present batch of students take the gems of their Salesian identity as they touch on their "Salesian Roots."
