Nazareth House - Anisakan, Myamar, 2 Janaury 2021 -- Greeting from Myanmar!

Happy Christmas and Happy New Year!

May the blessings of Baby Jesus shower down upon all of EAO Salesian Family always. We are happy to share an important step in our Don Bosco Green Alliance social ecology awareness and action movement:

On 26 December 2020 we were able to organize a program for SOCIAL ECOLOGY AWARENESS in order to implement the need for conversion in caring for creation. There were eight Salesians, thirty-one boys, five volunteers, three aspirants, three kitchen staff and six farmers present. Fifty-five participants were able to participate in that occasion.

We were able to talk and discuss “ecological vocation” which is emphasized by Pope John Paul II, about the contribution to caring for creation and able to touch with the invitation of Pope Francis for safeguarding creation such as sustainability requires personhood, solidarity and subsidiarity. We also could discuss the presence of God in the ecological crisis.

At the same time we could manage to agree to collaborate with the local municipality in taking care of our common home by educating the young people, growing trees and collecting the plastic waste. Our vegetable farming is converted into organic farming as a response to environmental harm by the use of chemical fertilizers. One hundred and fifty Jackfruit trees, seventy Avocado threes, twenty teaks, fifty hardwood trees and fifty lime trees were planted in order to implement the project of DBGA.
