4201_We believe in the Salesian Family - EAO 2016 (1)

Seoul, Korea, 15 November 2016 -- Almost twenty years after the previous attempt to form the Salesian Family Delegates (Hong Kong, May 1999 - Fr. Martinelli, Councilor for the SC and SF). After the new establishment of the Secreatariat for the Salesian Family after the GC27 the new central team headed by Fr. Eusebio Munoz organizes in all 7 Salesian Regions formation sessions for the Salesian Family Delegates. In our Region are organized 3 seminars, each 3 days in Korea, Vietnam and in the Philippines.

Who are the participants in the Salesian Family delegate formation?

In the first seminar in Seoul (KOR) on Nov 15-17 there are present 40 members: 31 SDB and 2 SDB novices, 6 FMA, 2 Salesian Cooperators - diocesan priests from AUL, CIN, GIA, KOR and VIE-Mongolia Delegation.

In the second seminar in K'Long (VIE) Nov 20-22 there will be also about 40 SDB and FMA from THA, Cambodia, VIE and MYM provinces, including some VDB, Salesian Cooperators

In the third seminar in Cebu (FIS) Nov 25-27, there will be more than 40 SDB, FMA, Salesian Cooperators from FIN, FIS, PGS and ITM provinces (including ITM-Indonesia delegation).

Almost complete World Secretariat for the Salesian Family - Fr. Eusebio Munoz (Delegate of the RM), Fr Giuseppe Casti, World Delegate to the Salesians Cooperators, Fr. Joan Lluis Playa, Central Assistant for the VDB-CDB and Fr. Pier Luigi Cameroni, Spiritual Animator for the ADMA. Only the recently appointed World Delegate for the Don Bosco Alumni, Fr. Raphael Jayapalan was absent, since he is still a provincial in India, Chennai.

The goals of these formation session are four-fold:

  1. Grasp the rich reality of present Salesian Family in the world

  2. Study some basic documents of the SF in order to revitalize the Salesian Family

  3. Operation goals for building of the Salesian family in all EAO provinces

  4. Foster more synergy at the level of Salesian Family among the EAO provinces.
