Manila-Cebu, the Philippines, 13 July 2018 -- Two 'new-old' missionaries arrived to their new provinces - one to Manila and the other to Cebu during last 24 hours. Two missionaries from Spanish speaking Catholic countries (Spain and Mexico) with a destination to two Muslim majority countries - mission territory of both Filipino provinces - one to Malaysia and another to the Pakistan.

Br. Manuel Ruperez Arroyo from Spain was assigned by the Rector Major in the 148th missionary expedition to the first Malaysia community (September 2017) and was able to move towards the FIN province finally after his perpetual profession in June 2018 (Madrid). Fr. Gabriel Cruz Trejo was assigned by the Rector Major to the Pakistan delegation in 2015 and reached Italy in September 2016 for his new missionary course and then he spent good time in Rome to prepare with the studies at PISAI (Pontifical Institute of Islamic and Arabic Studies), especially got deeper insight into the inter-religious dialogue dynamics.

Br. Manuel was warmly welcomed yesterday by Fr. Paul Bicomong, his Provincial in Manila airport and immediately introduced to the Salesian Family of FIN during the formation meeting in Makati (Saturday, July 14), while the two confreres in Kuching - Malaysia are already waiting for him!

Fr. Gabriel was welcomed in Cebu on previous day by Fr. Godofredo Atienza, his Provincial, Fr. Eugene his Delegate-Superior and by Pakistani candidates in Lawaan. Fr. Godo shares: "It is good to welcome and have Fr. Gabo with us here in Cebu. He is still adjusting to our place, familiarizing with the food and the climate. Hopefully, his additional English exposure will do him more chance to speak better. All the best for us, and for our Delegation in Pakistan!'

We welcome the two new missionaries and wish them a good time of adjustment to the Philippines and their new mission in Malaysia and in the Pakistan.
