Udonthani, Thailand, 12 March 2021 -- In the education of the young, Don Bosco gave importance to many aspects. One of these is 'Music'. Since the beginning of the youth center in Valdocco, Don Bosco put up a choir and a musical band, because music trains the hearts of the young to be gentle and brings life to all the members of the house. For Don Bosco "a Salesian house without music is like a body without a soul". The Salesian Schools in Thailand try to encourage the students to practice their musical abilities.

Don Bosco Vitthaya School, Udonthani, which is in the northeastern part of the country, encourages the students to love various kinds of music through classroom learning and musical groups in order that they can practice their skills according to their interests. To highlight this, Fr Thomas Smith Daengampan, the school manager, opened a special activity entitled "Music as a Way of Learning" at the school's meeting hall.

In the event, the students showed their musical skills to their friends, whether in orchestra ensemble, Thai musical group, native musical instruments, modern combo, long drums, piano, string instruments [violin, viola, cello, double bass], drum show, drum line, percussions, animation music, flag waving, etc. Added to these were the exhibits related to music for the learning consumption of the students.

This activity gave opportunity to the students to love and appreciate music more. It was also an occasion for them to show their musical talents to their fellow students and their teachers, numbering 3,000 all-in-all.
