...and they write to us from Manila, but it concerns KOR, ITM, VIE, FIN/S

MANILA:  18th April 2008 -- "We just came from our 8-day retreat in preparation for perpetual profession. Yesterday, we submitted our application letters for perpetual profession.
On 6 April, we went up to Baguio City—the ‘city of Pines’ and the ‘summer capital of the Philippines', for the retreat at the Jesuit Villa in Mirador Hill.  It was about a 6 hour trip from Manila. By the way, Baguio is at the heart of the mountain region of the Northern Philippines. It has a very good and cool climate.
Among the perpetuandi there is one coadjutor brother, the rest are students for the priesthood. Since the beginning of the month, we have been undergoing intense preparation for perpetual profession. This will last until the end of the April.
And so, we had an 8-day Ignatian retreat. There were 5 retreat guides: one Salesian brother, one Salesian priest—our acting Provincial now, Fr. Danny Torres! One Don Bosco Volunteer (DBV), one married woman, and one Jesuit scholastic. Each participant was assigned to one of these guides.
Tonight at dinner time, it was announced that all those who applied were accepted. So 15 of us will make the perpetual profession on May 1, at 3pm in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians: 1 Korean, 1 Indonesian, 3 East Timorese, 4 Vietnamese and 6 Filipinos.
