Rekindling the Fire

CELBRIDGE, Ireland: 30th January 2006 - It would seem useful to send this item out immediately, not that austraLasia readers will succeed in getting their copies in time for Don Bosco's Feastday tomorrow, but this is an enterprising and attractive way to present the Rector Major's thinking, and no doubt any number of readers will want to follow up on the information contained here. You are requested to contact the address given below rather than trying to work through austraLasia - I might add to the cost for 'beer money'!
SDB Media has just published a new booklet, "Rekindling the Fire. Inspiring examples from the history of the Church". It is the third in an annual collection that gathers the Rector Major's Italian Salesian Bulletin articles on last year's Strenna to make them readily available in English. It makes a fine present for SDB, FMA, Salesian Family members and friends of Don Bosco, especially if celebrating his feastday in any public fashion.
In "Rekindling the Fire", Fr Pascual's musings take us on a journey through the ages - a veritable Church History - from Christ, Mary and the Apostles, through the early and middle centuries, down to our own day. He presents us with inspiring examples of the Spirit at work in the lives of Christ's disciples to renew, through their holiness, the face of the Church, the Bride of Christ. And he directs a special word of encouragement to women, politicians and young people.
The editor, Fr Patrick Egan, has added a Summary Prayer at the end of each chapter as a gentle reminder that coming to love the Church and to refresh and renew its face is a spiritual work only the Spirit can effect.

"Rekindling the Fire" is available from SDB Media [sdbmedia@eircom.net] price euro 2.00 (plus post and packaging). Happy Don Bosco feastday!
