317 Letter on the eucharist

Subject: 'austraLasia' #317

As promised, I have done a 'precis' of the RM's latest letter on the

Eucharist. Must insist that it is not meant to replace the real thing, but

as one who has to deal with younger confreres who are not literary

(careful - I did not so 'not literate!), who do not come from a reading

culture, I need to be able to present them with a version that I know they

will attempt. They will not attempt something with 30 odd pages, but they

just might tackle 10. In the event I've got it into 9.

The other advantage of this slimmer version is that it's in basic format and

you can then do what you like with it to present it - with some images,

maybe, some colour, some highlighting of selected bits. You could add

sidebars (I could have, but only with time. Over to you!).

I have personally found this letter to be profound, rich in its invitation

so often to meditate on one or other aspect, but rich too in its suggestions

for practical applications. I think you, and maybe many of its readers,

will want to turn to the fuller version and drink of its fullness.

I trust this effort is rewarded by your eager desire to read!

I have not attached it for general distribution. You have merely to ask for

it.

God bless,

Julian
