Our Young ITM Missionary in Paraguay
ASUNCION: September 1, 2014 The Colegio Sagrado Corazón de Jésus, Salesianito in Asuncion-Paraguay is where the cleric Agustinus Jou, SDB is assigned, this year. He is one of the missionaries who received their missionary mandate at Valdocco in 2013. Born in one of the islands of Flores-Indonesia surrounded by seas, now he is in a place surrounded by mountains. Anyway, in both places, they have the same blue sky and the same Salesian work of accompanying the young in their mental and spiritual development.

The school has about 2500 students from Kindergarten until Senior High School. He writes about the spiritual activites being carried during these weeks until October for the Senior High School. Last week, in fact, he was the assistant for the batch of 40
Second-Year Graphic Design students who had their mountain retreat. The theme of the Beatitudes was preached by Fr Bienvenido Marciel, SDB during their two day retreat in the place called Tyu. The word means "flowing waters" in the Guarani language, because there is water underground and a stream nearby.

The silence of the place and the mountain top view are natural aids for the young to come into contact with God. The morning is usually spent making a trek to a spot where they make their personal reflections and then in the evening they spend it indoors for their group prayers and the reception of the sacraments of reconciliation and the Eucharist.
