5249(I)_The Launching and Blessing of New Communications Centre, Vietnam Province

Xuan Hiep, Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, 11 November 2019 –- Father Joseph Nguyen Van Quang, the Provincial of the Vietnam Salesian Province, led the rites of launching and blessing of the new Communication Centre for the Vietnam Province on Sunday, 10 November 2019, at 6 p.m, at Xuan Hiep, Ho Chi Minh.


The confreres of the provincial house came to participate in this event together with some confreres from the communities in Ho Chi Minh city, the Salesian Sisters (FMA), the representatives of committees of the two Salesian parishes, Xuan Hiep and Tam Hai, friends and guests.


During the rites of launching and blessing the centre, Father Provincial spoke about services of the Province in missions for young people through different fields such as formation, youth ministry, missionary activities, financial economics and communication. Among them, communication is like a tool which is very close and familiar with young people of today. Its elements need to be imrpoved to serve strongly and effectively for our mission.


The new communication centre of the Province includes a bookstore which introduces Salesian products such as books, Salesian magazines, religious images and statues; a studio for recording and filming; a communication office for activities of management of the websites of the Province, Boscolink and graphic publishing; a conference room for meetings and formation; a chapel; rooms for confreres and guests and some storage rooms.


At the end of the rites of launching and blessing, Father Provincial offered incense at the statue of Our Lady and the garden of Salesisan saints just outside the communication centre.
