New Website for Australia – Pacific

MELBOURNE: 2nd September 2007 -- The Australia – Pacific Province of Mary Help of Christians has launched a new province website. The website, which has been in development for approximately two years, was designed by Fraynework, a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy.
The brief given to the developers indicated that the website should be a point of information, communication, access, resources and promotion of the Salesian mission in Australia, Samoa and Fiji. The site aims to be welcoming and informative and to convey something of the reality of Salesians as men of faith, hope and love, who are committed to the Gospel and dedicated to the evangelisation of the young. It is hoped that the visual presentation of the material will provide those who access the site with an insight into the powerfully optimistic and practical nature of the Salesian mission on behalf of the young. By sharing something of the multiple works and ministries undertaken by the Salesians throughout the province, it is hoped that readers will experience something of the joy that is inherent to serving the young.
Two key features of the site are the extensive resources collection and the members only section. Over 100 resources in more than 20 categories are already available. Resources available include reflections on the life and work of Don Bosco, Salesian history, the preventive system, prayer and liturgy. More resources will be progressively available over time. The members only section will be inaugurated in the near future and will allow SDB’s to store documents online, engage in exchange forums and access news and information relevant to the province.
The address of the website is: www.sdb.org.au
